So going to dive head first into concrete and kick off with the center of everything and that is your journey. Your journey starts the second you are conceived and is the only thing left of you once you are gone. This is why falling in love with where you are, where you are going, how you interact with others and the environment but most importantly yourself is ultimately everything to you.

THE TRUTH

Loving yourself is such an important journey to start but will also be endlessly difficult. Understanding the complexities of what makes you tick, the strands that make up the fuse and the dark components involved in making every bit of you will ignite an awareness of worth that will make you psychologically bomb proof. Well, maybe not bomb proof but being happy in your skin will help diffuse the backpack bombings of life on the human psyche.

THE TRUTH

Every step of every journey that adds depth and understanding is a step closer to loving the skin you are in. Unfortunately a smug “piggy back” society has crept into our lives, eager for a shortcut to the summit for that all important social media selfie. This short lived high creates pot holes in our development as we learn and grow infinitely more from the struggle of the journey rather than the elation of the destination. Pinning all your hopes and happiness on the destination rather than the fun of the road trip can leave you feeling a little lost .

Until you give up on the idea that happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where you are.”

Our uniqueness is our greatest gift but without the love for yourself, it is also our most vulnerable characteristic. There is no blueprint out there and turning yourself into an evolving science project which will never produce a definitive conclusion is an approach that requires time and patience but most importantly a mindset that trusts its gut instinct above all else.

There can be a million studies done on a million people with a million out of a million success rate but that does not necessarily mean those results hold true for you. Self-knowledge and common sense will help you take ownership of your “health wealth” journey and avoid having your pockets picked by captain shredded and his merry men of supplement shortcuts.

The body is continually trying to find its optimum output in relation to its environment and will let you know when it’s out of balance. Bloating, loss of energy, mood swings, change in complexion are examples of indicators that you must learn to listen to and find solutions for. There is no one who knows you as well or has as much invested in you as you do/should.

The best version of you physically, mentally, spiritually is a path that becomes less foggy as you get to know yourself and start to enjoy the mystery in the mist. Read things, buy things, try things, learn things, add things, leave things, re-visit things, be wrong about things but most importantly just do things.
