Common Questions

What is calisthenics and movement training, and how does it differ from other types of exercise?? This form of strength training focuses on using your own body weight as resistance rather than machines or weights. Prioritising natural, functional movements like pushing, pulling, squatting and balancing which build strength and coordination and flexibility. This ultimately translates into real life activities making it highly adaptable and accessible for all fitness levels.

Do I need any experience or fitness background to get started? Everyone has already started their calisthenics journey. From that first baby crawl and step, that was you starting calisthenics. All movements can be modified or scaled back making your current capabilities your base point. Everything grows from there, meaning all levels and goals can be catered for.

What results can I expect? With consistent training, you can expect to see improvements in core strength, mobility, and balance within a few weeks. Over time, many people experience increased muscle tone, better posture, and enhanced body confidence. However if your primary goal is to maximise muscle mass and size, then a movement practice may not be ideal. It emphasis’s functional strength and mobility over bulk.

Do I need any equipment to start? Not necessarily! We primarily use your own body weight, so most movements wont need much more than just yourself and a mat. Still, as you expand your capabilities and goals some equipment maybe required. We can provide all equipment on our one to one sessions. This is possible as long as there is a suitable surface and space at location.

I’m not sure this is for me?? Starting something new can be intimidating, but calisthenics meets you where you are. Our coaching service is personalised to you and your goals. It focuses on steady, step by step progress. We build confidence at your pace. With options including online workout plans and courses, one to one or virtual sessions our coaching aims to fit around you.
