I love the beautiful practice of movement and its younger, cooler sibling — calisthenics. But in today’s world of likes, shares, and highlight reels, the practice can often feel intimidating.
So I created Couch to Calisthenics — a series of short workshops, courses, and guides designed as in-person movement experiences for small groups, couples, or organisations looking to expand their mind-body connection. Experience aim to build you up step by step, helping you develop strength, movement confidence, and body awareness in a safe structured environment.
Couch to Calisthenics modules are designed as in-person guided movement experiences, but we also wanted to make them accessible online on a pay-what-you-like basis. Contributions are never expected, but they do help support the creation of future experiences. If you found benefits from any of our online courses, liking, sharing and tagging us is also a nice way to show your appreciation.
The guides focus on fundamental movement principles and clear progressions, but unlike live sessions they cannot provide the same level of detailed body connection or adaptation to the individual. Some bodies may require a completely different entry point to that used on our online platform.
All in-person experiences require a minimum of two people and can accommodate up to eight participants depending on space. Sessions take place at your home, workplace, a private studio, open space or other suitable venues (some experiences require more space than others). Get In Touch to make an enquiry or to find out more.
You’ll find all current and upcoming workshops and courses below.

FROGGIN AROUND
So you want to get into calisthenics or hand balancing… but you’re not quite ready to throw yourself upside down. Cool. That’s why we start with the frog pose — the gateway movement to all things balanced on the hands.
Available to book as a 90 minute workshop, or access our online practice guide and master the pose in your own time.
CORE CLUB
Core Club is 9 levels of our favourite core movements. Starting off with level 1-3 that build on the fundamental core movements without any equipment.
Levels 5-6 build on those fundamentals requiring small set of weights and our final 3 levels bars and resistance bands.

ON THE PULL
The pull-up is one of the best indicators of functional strength, with huge crossover to everyday life and many of the physical qualities associated with longevity.
This six-session course builds your pulling strength progressively, helping you move closer to your first pull-up with every session. We’ll use resistance bands, olympic rings, and a pull-up bar to develop the strength, control, and movement awareness needed.
An online version of the course is available on a pay-what-you-like basis via the link below, but nothing beats learning and progressing alongside friends in person.
